Nedavnom akvizicijom Bibble Labs kompanije, Corel je sebi obezbedio vrlo vrednu ulaznicu u svet u kojem je Adobe praktično neprikosloven. Bibble Pro, RAW procesor iz Bibble Labs kuhinje, oduvek je bio konkurentan po performansama i mogućnostima, najpre kao takmac Adobe-ovom Lightroom-u.
Sada, kada je finansijski mnogo moćnija kompanija došla u posed ovog odličnog alata, situacija na RAW terenu postaje mnogo ozbiljnija. Em što će izbor biti proširen za još jedan kvalitetan alat, em će to i Adobe naterati da preispita svoju razvojnu politiku... posebno onu koja se tiče najblaže rečeno UŽASNE optimizacije koja prati poslednjih nekoliko inkarnacija nama najpoznatijih alata - Photoshopa i Lightrooma.
Ostaje da vidimo u kojoj će meri biti biti izvršena integracija novog okruženja sa postojećim Corel alatima, od kojih su grafički najbitnije Photopaint i Paintshop Pro. Multiplatformski rad je nešto što je planirano od samog početka, pa su najavljene verzije za Windows, Mac OS i Linux.

CES 2012: Corel has announced AfterShot Pro, a Raw processing and workflow tool based on Bibble's technologies. Coming just a week after the announcement that Corel had bought Bibble Labs (though several months after the deal was done), AfterShot Pro provides the kinds of photo management and non-destructive editing that products such as Adobe's Lightroom offer. The software, available for Mac and Linux as well as Windows, will cost $99 or $79 for existing Bibble 5, PaintShop Pro X2, Lightroom or Aperture customers.
